Mr. Burchardt moved from Norway to earn a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1977. Following employment with Exxon and Anadarko in Louisiana, Kansas and Colorado as a senior reservoir and production engineer, he founded Norstar Petroleum Inc. in 1989. His experience at the time included onshore and offshore reservoir and operational experience in oil and gas properties, waterflooding, CO2, polymer, chemical flooding and joint operations. Mr. Burchardt has been responsible for the consistent growth of the company throughout the many business cycles. He has also been a long-term volunteer Board Member of the Denver Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Patsy Botts

Ms. Botts is a Certified Professional Landman and serves as Land Manager for Norstar Petroleum Inc. She has been employed by Norstar since 2001 and oversees land, leasing and the legal matters for the corporation. She began her landman career in 1974 working for numerous companies in both Denver and San Antonio, Texas. During this time, she earned a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State College in Business Management and an MBA in Finance from Regis University. Ms. Botts is a member of the DAPL, WAPL, and AAPL.
Mr. Pfeiffer graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in May 2011 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering, and a double minor in Geology and Economics. Mr. Pfeiffer spent his first year of employment with Devon Energy Corporation in Riverton, WY working the Wind River Basin, learning on such projects as the Beaver Creek Madison CO2 Flood and Riverton Dome CBNG project. Prior to graduation, Mr. Pfeiffer worked two summers for Luca Technologies in Golden, CO and Gillette, WY working on their microbial-producing CBNG project. Mr. Pfeiffer started with Norstar in 2012 and handles the daily operational supervision as well as production and reservoir engineering projects. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado.

Mrs. Orozco graduated from Colorado State University in 2010 with a degree in International Studies. Katy is Per Burchardt’s youngest daughter, and after living abroad, settled in to the family business. Mrs. Orozco has been working full time for Norstar since 2012. She wears many hats including accounting, human resources, engineering tech support, environmental compliance, and various IT support.
